Great Moments in 5-a-side History

I don't think it will be of any real surprise to discover that most of the entries for Great Moments in 5-a-side History include the club mascot Mr Daniel O'Rourke. Often a source of comical football, he has contributed to many a game being stopped because of fits of laughter. Any more suggestions are welcomed. Enjoy.

A Grand Exit and Entrance

The exact date of this incident has been lost to the ages, although the venue was Cherry Hinton. Dan was playing on the colours side and attacking the goal at the opposite end to the changing rooms. His team were playing badly but of course he would never give in (unlike some others) and kept chasing for the ball. Eventually he gained posession and scored and in such a rage he kicked the fire door and ran out...only for the door to slam shut behind him. Feeling a bit daft, he jumped a fence and ran around the back of the building. Meanwhile, someone went over to open the door to let him back in...but he had gone. Nowhere to be seen, the door was shut again and the game continued. As the ball went across towards the foyer doors, Dan reappeared through them and immediately scored.

Making an arse of oneself

In usual 5-a-side style, there was a lot of schoolboy bunching going on during this particular game. Everyone apart from the white's keeper was in the colours' half and right on the edge of the colours' goal area. Suddenly the ball ran loose and at speed towards the white's end. Quick as a flash, Dan - on the colours side - chases after the ball. With every step his shorts get lower and lower until he has them around his ankles and is showing off his white, hairy arse. Everyone has to stop for a good 5 minutes to regain their composure after rolling on the floor in hysterics. THE funniest thing I have ever seen in my life.

Legs

10th May 2002. Steve Revill wore shorts.

Money

6th February 2002. Everyone brought the correct money and I wasn't out of pocket. 1st time ever.

1st April 2005. Chopper was paid exactly £36.00, only three years since the last time everyone had the correct money.

Mike

11th October 2002. Mike arrived on time for the first time.

The future?

Will everyone arrive on time and start playing at 12:00?

Will they put another clothes hook in the changing rooms?

Will the showers be the right temperature...ever?

Will we get a discount?
